Shopping in English 英語でお買い物(2年生 英会話)
The Second Grade students enjoyed a “real life” English shopping simulation and had lots of fun.
First let`s set up the stores. In the English department we have many replica fruits and vegetables, and play foods.
We made a fruit and vegetable store filled with many real looking fruits and vegetables.

Delicious looking hamburgers and hotdogs for the Fast Food store.

And refreshing soda, juice and icecreams.
Each store had a cash register to give change to the customers.

Each pair of customers got 2000 yen in play money to spend. They were very excited to start shopping.
“Come on! Come on!” called the shop keepers. Customers rushed to buy their favorite foods.
The bottles of cola were very popular.

“Hamburger please” “Here you are” “Thank you” How much?” “500 yen”
What great shopping!

“Strawberries! 100 yen!” Shop keepers tried to get customers to buy.

Some times there is a special price for a good customer. “Grapes! Free! No money!”

Let`s buy an icecream! What flavor do you want?
“I want strawberry icecream”
Make sure to give the customer the strawberry icecream, and don’t forget to give correct change. It’s a bit tricky to do maths while speaking English, but all the students tried hard.

The hotdogs are sold out and there is just one hamburger left.
“No hotdogs! Hamburger – last one!” the shopkeeper calls out to the customers.
A customer looks interested.

I have a hamburger, now I will buy fruit.
The customers quickly buy extra food to enjoy.

Wow! Everyone spent all their money. They have lots of delicious food to “enjoy”.
Best of all they had a lot of fun!
