Somewhere over the rainbow… we are excited for Hinode Festival!
Just one week until Hinode Festival and Grade 3 had a dress rehearsal for their performance of The Wizard of Oz.
(日出祭まであと１週間となり、３年生は「オズの魔法使い」の練習を行いました）
It was so exciting to watch and a very good lesson for everyone.
(見ていてもとても面白く、出演者はとてもいい経験をしています）
Dorothy meets the Scarecrow, the Tin Man and the cowardly lion in the forest.
（ドロシーは森の中で、かかし・ブリキの木こり・臆病なライオンに出会います）
What do you need?
(何が欲しい？)
“I need a brain!” says the Scarecrow
(ぼくには「脳みそ」を！ かかしが言います)
“I need a heart! says the Tinman
(私には「心」を！ ブリキの木こりが言います)
“I need courage!” says the lion
(俺には「勇気」が必要だ！ ライオンが言います)
“I need to go home!” says Dorothy
(私は家に帰りたい！ ドロシーが言います)
Who can help them find the things they need?
(一体誰がその願いを叶えることができるのでしょう)
Can the Wizard of Oz help them with their challenges? He tells them that they must defeat the wicked witch and then he will help them.
(オズの魔法使いはその願いを叶えてくれるのでしょうか。オズは「邪魔な魔女をたおしてきたら願いを叶えてやろう」と伝えます。)
The friends take on many challenges and finally defeat the wicked witch.
(仲間で数々の困難を乗り越え、ついに悪い魔女を倒します)
But the Wizard of Oz is not really a wizard, he is just an ordinary man.
(しかし、オズは本当の魔法使いではなく、ただの普通の男なのでした)
But in the end, they learn that they already have the things they wanted. The Scarecrow is smart, the Tin Man is kind, and the Lion is brave. They can take on challenges and succeed.
(オズは、それぞれの願いのものが、実は既に自分の中にあることに気づかせます。かかしは賢く、ブリキは優しく、ライオンは勇敢だったのです。彼らは困難を乗り越えて成功を収めることができました。)
Dorothy uses her magical shoes to return home. She is happy to be with her family again.
(ドロシーは魔法の靴で家に帰ります。ドロシーはまた家族と幸せな生活を送ることができました。)
